Dimas Tivane – Juggler-musician, puppeteer
Dimas Tivane began his artistic career with the Mozambican Gungu Theatre Company, which gave him the opportunity to take part in the juggling training initiated by the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center in Maputo with Thomas Guérineau.
He became a juggler-performer in two shows directed by Thomas Guérineau: Maputo Mozambique, a piece for 6 jugglers-musicians (more than 250 performances since 2013: Avignon Off 2016, Musée du Quai Branly, Institut Français tour…) and Petite Rêverie (2019), a duet for very young audiences. He plays in Trio Leïla Martial-Thomas Guérineau-Dimas Tivane at the Triton (Les Lilas) as part of a creation with the Maad in 93 Festival.
He has been perfecting his skills in this discipline for the past six years, while combining it with music and dance. He has worked with Nathan Israël, Pich, Kim Huynh and Antek (Gandini Juggling), Nicolas Mathis and Julien Clément (Collectif Petit Travers), Johan Swartvagher, Jive Faury, Emmanuel Perez (Plus Petit Cirque du Monde). Dimas Tivane is also the artistic director of the Mozambican company of Giant Puppets (Associaçao das Marionetas Gigantes de Moçambique), with whom he has put together a Parade project for the reopening in 2019 of the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
