The Samovar (2022)

Le Samovar is a place of training, creation and dissemination dedicated to the contemporary clown.

Founded on the initiative of Franck Dinet in 1990, the School has continued to evolve, moving from a weekly workshop to professional training.

Over the years, a group of actors and directors joined Franck Dinet, with the desire to experiment and pass on their theatrical desires. Then set up courses in text, gesture, clowning, singing…

In 2000, the School moved to new premises in Bagnolet and Franck Dinet opened the Théâtre Le Samovar. Gradually, the clown takes more and more space and in 2004 all pedagogy is refocused around the training of clowns, burlesques and eccentrics.

Theater activities (residencies, shows, festivals) are also centered around clowning and burlesque, while keeping open to other artistic forms through the Samovar Meetings.
