Juggling, a springboard to academic success (CLAS)
Action culturelle
In parallel with the activities of the CLAS (contrat local d'accompagnement à la scolarité - local school support contract), we're running a series of juggling discovery and initiation workshops for children from CP to CM2, and for middle-schoolers experiencing difficulties with the ACTE/L'Escale scheme. After attending homework support sessions, the children take turns in small groups to attend a juggling workshop with Axel Martinez, a professional juggler and teacher from the Maison des Jonglages.

The practice of juggling will enable children and young people to:
– increase their motor skills: improve coordination and dissociation, perception and anticipation (kinaesthetic perception, visual attention, etc.), develop physical abilities (tone, balance, flexibility, dexterity)
– develop emotional and relational skills: communicating and working with others, cooperating, seeking and controlling risk, accepting to show others, being able to watch others, performing an act together
– developing concentration and self-confidence
– developing cognitive skills: understanding, memorizing, creating by seeking originality.
This cycle of workshops is complemented by a spectator pathway, with the organization of outings to residency events and shows as part of the Rencontre des Jonglages festival and the Bondy cultural season.
