Did you know that juggling hides a world of mathematical equations that our brains understand almost intuitively? Did you know that most jugglers around the world can communicate with a digital notation system and transmit juggling sequences, just as musicians do with their scores? Through this series of workshops, and based on the study of juggling sequence diagrams, students will take part in the creation of prototypes of juggling machines and explore juggling choreographies with a view to restitution in the form of a performance or animated exhibition. The work carried out in the workshops (10 workshops per class) will give rise to a short juggling piece, an opportunity for the students to share their knowledge and skills, and to feed the curiosity of their fellow students. This project was set up with the support of the Ile-de-France region’s high-school arts and cultural education program.
