Groupe Geste(s)

Groupe Geste(s) was founded in 2008. It is made up of programmers, theater and festival directors from all over France. Its aim is to facilitate the creation and dissemination of works in the field of Mime and Gesture Arts by artists from a variety of backgrounds.

They come from the former École Internationale de Mimodrame Marcel Marceau, the École Internationale de Mime Corporel dramatique, the Ecole Hippocampe – Art du Geste – Théâtre Physique, private courses, the École Jacques Lecoq, the clown school of the Théâtre le Samovar, circus, puppet and object theater schools, and the world of juggling. Today’s young companies, made up of a wide range of artists, have significantly altered the current landscape of contemporary creation.

Organized as an association, Groupe Geste(s) has set up a funding network to support creators through creation, co-production or distribution grants, and to provide technical assistance for production and touring.
