How does a policeman cope with a chaotic crowd? What happens at a demonstration when you’re on the other side? “Sous Les Pavés” takes the audience on a journey to the other side of the mirror, where we least expect it. The performativity of an obligatory virility in a group where fragility has no place. Where confessing fear, anxiety or any other feeling is out of the question, at the risk of ending up broken, and where apathy and anger become part of everyday life.

Toxic masculinity, police violence, suicides, nothing is left out.

“Sous Les Pavés” is not intended to be anti-cop. The play puts the human element back at the center, the person behind the uniform and the archetypal policeman, to get away from forced Manichaeism.

Nino Wassmer

Circus artist and dancer, graduating from the Académie Fratellini in 2019. Nino Wassmer’s work has been invited to several international festivals in Taiwan, Finland, Norway, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.

Her research focuses on object manipulation, weaving it with dance and movement to develop a singular poetry. Nino Wassmer’s desire to detach himself from the technical demonstration of the circus has led him to develop a language and dramaturgy of object manipulation and choreographed gesture.

He has also worked as a performer with choreographers and circographers such as Philippe Lafeuille, Nathan Israël and Luna Rousseau, Michèle Anne de Mey, Jaco Van Dormael, Vittoria De Ferrari Sapetto, Šeiko Šokio Teatras… and for brands such as Hermès.
