An object with a multitude of uses and qualities, the white sheet has strong symbolism: it dresses a ghost, is the fabric that shelters our dreams, protects neglected objects and sometimes our memories. The sheet will be the vector of passage from the concrete to the abstract, thanks to transformations of spaces scenographed at sight. Worlds that will coexist in strange, disquieting and fantastic ways…

Beyond the object, the guidelines forged during our first year of research revealed the need to blend two universes: one real, with “normal” characters (neighbors, workers, inhabitants…), endowed with habitual actions, conducive to a change in scenographic decorum with concrete acts; another dreamlike, closer to our follies and dreams, in which the silhouettes emerge from a collective imagination (squires with ample wigs, elusive spirits inspired by Japanese yokai, …). Using the concept of the ghost in its broadest sense, we propose a contrasting and political reading of these visible and invisible worlds, in relation to current events and the march of humanity. It’s the friction between these two parallel worlds, their cohabitation, resistance and contamination, that we want to examine and put into perspective.

The G. Bistaki

Le G. Bistaki is a collective of jugglers and dancers who have come together to shake up their daily artistic and theatrical lives by innovating in the way they research and perform. For his latest creation, Bel Horizon, he has surrounded himself with four dancers, actors and circus artists.

The essence of its performance style is its relationship with space: from conventional theater stages to extra-muros, rural or industrial environments, in unusual locations and even on the move, the Toulouse-based collective develops in situ performances and thrives in close connection with the spatial and social characteristics of a place.

Taking the time necessary to invest and transform a site, Le G. Bistaki overflows the dreamlike dimension of the stage and opens up the playing space, dressing the landscape in plastic installations where objects multiply and decline, and where video and tableaux vivants become embedded. The environment, whether urban or rural, open or closed, is the stage for his work.
