As part of “La Nuit du Cirque,” an international event organized by Territoires de Cirque, with support from the Ministry of Culture.
J’ADORE! s a silent karaoke show set to songs by Philippe Katerine.
In a cramped little puppet theater, two zany characters ingeniously scramble to display all of the singer’s lyrics, interviews, and podcasts live on stage.
A short play full of textual manipulation, where DIY and ingenuity rival the absurd and the outlandish.
It’s fast-paced and lively, rich and exhilarating, subversive and chaotic.
A joyful interlude to explore the theme of freedom.
Les Vélocimanes Theater Company
Etymologically, “vélocimane” means “one whose hands move very quickly.” In the 19th century, the term “vélocimane” was used to refer to a juggler.
Les Vélocimanes produce juggling shows. More specifically, we create juggling performances. In other words, even though juggling may seem to play a very minor role in the company’s productions, all of them bear the mark of their creators, who define themselves first and foremost as jugglers. Their relationship with the object—at the heart of their practice—is fueled by a set of manipulation techniques and the construction of sequences that set them apart, even though our work diverges from a more traditional vision of juggling.
Les Vélocimanes is a Belgian nonprofit organization founded in 2015 to carry out the “Triporteur” project, a street performance featuring a juggler and a pianist. In 2018, Les Vélocimanes, in collaboration with Cirque du Bout du Monde, produced “Der Lauf.”
Since February 2022, the show *Der Lauf* has been produced and presented exclusively by Les Vélocimanes.
