Cirque des Petites Natures - Léo Rousselet
45-50 min / From 7 years old / Saison culturelle / Coproduction
- Creation 2025, Long form
- Balls, Illusion
A chair, a hanging lamp, the switch string, a record player, a glass of water and a candle. Every item is in its place. Under a single light source, the image is absolutely minimal, like a black-and-white film.
It’s in this slightly too polished setting that the slightly too meticulous character evolves. Everything is always a little out of his control. In his chair, under his lamp, he waits in the half-light. The light goes out for a moment. He juggles with the ball the darkness has given him. He doesn’t know that the half-light will take it away from him. Sequences of manipulations shifted and transformed by the rhythms and durations of light.
In this space, where the technical means are always elements of play, the logic of causality gradually dissipates, reality becomes more complex and absurd.
The string of the pull switch titillates him…
Léo Rousselet
Born in Caen (14) in 1992, Léo studied music at the universities of Rennes 2, Prague and Paris 8 where he obtained his Masters in Musical and Sound Creation in 2015. As soon as he graduated, he worked for a year at the Maison des Jonglages and began professional training at the Toulouse circus arts centre, the LIDO. He perfected and expanded his practice of juggling, which he has been practicing since the age of 14. He completed his training at LIDO in 2018, and now works as a juggler, musician and builder in various shows. He has been playing the 25-minute form of ECLIPSE since 2019, and is now keen to develop it into a longer form.
