“Why don’t adults toboggan?”

The starting point for this project is our artistic encounter, the sharing of our experiences and, in particular, our relationship with our juggling practices, the devil’s stick for Tino and cigar boxes for Joseph.

In our society, some practices are more recognized and valued than others.

It’s easy to see that juggling isn’t considered a very serious activity.

We can make this observation about a huge number of practices, be they passions, hobbies, professions or just purely recreational practices.

This social construct cuts across many factors, such as age, gender and social status.

Drawing on our personal experiences, we hope that these questions will resonate with a large number of people. Our aim is to treat this subject with sensitivity, humor and off-beatness, while working with the utmost seriousness.

We want this show to be as much fun as a toboggan ride. It’s an ode to unsuspected passions, apparent uselessness and overflowing curiosity.

Le Bâton (du diable) and Les Boîtes (à cigares) are at the heart of this project.

Drawing on pre-existing techniques, we are working to modernize the technical repertoire of these apparatus. This creation is a space for sharing our deconstruction/reconstruction research, which can give rise to new juggling practices and even new juggling objects.

Le Long Raccourci

Upon graduating in 2018, Eugénie Hersant-Prévert & Joseph Bleher co-create the cie du Long Raccourci. Their first show Don’t Worry will be released in summer 2019. In this graphic, poetic and absurd creation, they tackle the notion of the body and the knee injury.

In its creations, Le Long Raccourci navigates between demanding graphic design and strong sensitivity.
In 2022, Au bord du corps, the company’s second show, is released.
In 2023, Tino Chalon joins the company and, with Joseph, begins the third creation: Tobôggan.

Since 2020, Le Long Raccourci has been an integral part of the Balezocirque collective. Balézocirque is an artistic collective that brings together several circus and street arts companies in Brittany, as well as technicians and video artists specialized in circus. The collective operates throughout the region, and more specifically in the Grand Ouest and Brittany.
