RECONCILIATION

Using a roll of paper, body and text meet and open up a shared space: telling stories in ways other than the spoken word, giving access to each other’s imaginations and inner landscapes. The roll of paper becomes a shared apparatus, a medium for both writing and manipulation. Reconocer is built on this shared writing process, which links the circus gesture and the literary gesture. The relationship between the performers and their practices becomes a place of transformation, where each learns to read the language of the other.

A lot of work to do

Based in Rennes, Brittany, Du pain sur la planche welcomes projects from multi-disciplinary artists and companies proposing new physical, textual, visual or scenic languages. The aim is to create spaces for dialogue, to exchange ideas on our research, practices and questioning, with a view to sharing and transmitting knowledge, tools and experience.

Mireille Losco, Professor of Theatre Studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre and member of the Passages XX-XXI laboratory at Lyon 2 University, is the president.
