NKAMA is a short 30-minute form that mixes juggling, rhythm and dance. Influenced by Mozambican sounds, the juggler uses the vocabulary of juggling to reach the ears and eyes of the audience.
NKAMA means time in changana, a traditional language spoken in the south of Mozambique where Dimas comes from. The changana has particular accents such as whistles, clicks of the tongue, and it is from these accents of the changana that Dimas creates his music. Blacks, whites, eighth notes, triplets, dotted blacks, these are some of the elements that accompany the artist in the construction of his juggling and his music.
