Présentation

This workshop explores the connections between Windstyle, contact juggling, movement, and the relationship with the object. Windstyle is a dance technique that develops fluidity of movement through undulations, spirals, and circular trajectories, as well as through precise control of the body’s speed.

We will use these principles to develop coordination, bodily awareness, and the quality of movement, and then apply them to interactions with various objects. Techniques drawn from contact juggling will enrich this exploration, while remaining accessible to participants from all disciplines.

Over the course of the three days, we will also explore floor work, slides, and ground work to expand our range of movement. The workshop will alternate between technical instruction, improvisation, learning short sequences, time for personal exploration, and composition.

This workshop is for anyone who wishes to deepen their relationship between the body, movement, and the object, regardless of their circus discipline. Special attention will be given to how body language can create impressions and illusions, in order to develop a more expressive and sensitive practice and to open up new possibilities in the relationship with the object.

Prérequis

Please bring your juggling equipment, a notebook for taking notes, and comfortable clothing.
