How to contribute

Aimed at a wide readership interested in juggling practices and works – whether they are scientists and/or practitioners, or neophytes – the magazine
Jonglages
welcomes contributions whose formats and modalities of expression adapt to the proposals received and the skills that the contributors wish to mobilize.

Conceived as a field of study in which to mobilize different fields and disciplinary approaches (artistic and/or academic) that are not solely related to the performing arts, the journal Juggling is both to enrich and deepen the history of juggling, while formulating and photographing the state of thoughts in motion. Several types of productions can be proposed to meet this dual objective, such as:
– articles (academic and journalistic), essays, reviews and other literary and/or scientific productions;
– dialogue feedback (interviews, round tables, etc.);
– free productions and artistic creations.

Through the various media and supports (textual, iconographic, sound, video) that this platform offers, it is a question of giving access to the sensitive matter of juggling, and offering a space where to take stock of the progress of research or discoveries (both scientific and artistic).
Furthermore, it is quite possible to contribute to this publication without juggling being a preferred field for a contributor. The same is true for expected skills, such as writing skills. Anyone interested in the magazine’s project is strongly encouraged to contact the Jonglages team.

Formalize a contribution proposal

All proposed contributions must be original and not be submitted to other journals or publications simultaneously. It can be carried alone or with several contributors.

A proposal for a contribution implies the composition of a note of intent between 500 and 1000 characters (including spaces), including when the contribution can already be submitted in its final form.
Be sure to specify in this note of intent:
– a possible forecasted title;
– what the contribution consists of;
– how this contribution can advance the thinking around one or more topics related to juggling;
– some elements informing the format or support as well as the type, the nature and/or the genre envisaged.

Each proposal should be accompanied by a biographical note between 500 and 1000 characters (including spaces). Please specify your contact details and to introduce yourself, in particular by mentioning your possible interests, activities and/or entities.

Proposals for contributions may be written in English or French.

Send a contribution proposal

Send the proposal to
revue.jonglages@gmail.com
ideally in the form of a Word document, knowing that the accepted formats are: .doc; .docx; .rtf; .odt. Be sure to title the documents as follows:
– “NAME_proposal_TITLE_OF-CONTRIBUTION” for the note of intent;

Response to a proposal

The contributors will be informed by e-mail of the envisaged follow-up of their contribution proposal; the response may be accompanied by remarks. Acceptance of the note of intent is not a commitment to publish the contribution.

The evaluation and follow-up of the contributions are based on their originality, their interest and their accessibility to the wide readership that Jonglages aims at.
In the case of a scientific article, the approach adopted as well as the theoretical and empirical relevance of the work presented in relation to the journal’s project will be taken into account. The formal quality of the work comes into play, but to a lesser extent than strictly academic journals.

Formalize other proposals

Any form of expression of interest is also encouraged. We hear, among other things:
– a suggestion from contributors ;
– a content guidance board for future contributions;
– a proposal for a topic, theme or case study to be used in a file;
– an idea for a method or protocol to try out for a survey;
– the wish to provide specific assistance, for example, concerning the production of a contribution (translation, proofreading, etc.).
