Equipped with a suitcase, a chair and a speaker, GlounTéko arrives. When his objects, his body and his tongue start to play tricks on him, his juggling blues show becomes a challenge. Behind an apparent naivety, the virtuosity is never far away, letting appear a wobbly world where the reversal is logical and the zygomatic are raised. A revisiting of a classic Burlesque show in which he reveals himself as a juggler and bluesman.

The Unfinished Circus // Thomas Dequidt

Thomas Dequidt trained at Piste d’Azur in 2004 and then at the CRAC in Lomme in 2005/07. In juggling, it is the juggler who interests him, the organic, the raw, the player who reveals himself behind the objects.

He founded the Cirque Inachevé with Antoine Clée in 2007 and together they created “Piste & Love” (2009), a burlesque juggling duo. In2015, he released ” Go On. A juggled and danced interpretation of Ten Years After’s Stonehenge album (70s rock). First solo, first steps towards a danced and musical juggling. In this continuity of musical inspiration, follows ” IWanDé” (2019), In response to the experimental rock album You can Dance by TOC , this solo questions the body, its impulses, its sometimes elusive actions when driven by an irresistible need to escape.

In 2021, back to the game with GlounTéko: clown solo, juggling and live music. A revisit of a classic burlesque character who gets tangled up in everything he does. This homage is a way of wanting to stop the race towards the new, the novel, the original at all costs and to believe that singularity can also be found in the already existing.

In parallel to the Cirque Inachevé, he is part of the Collectif Protocole. Since 2011, this Collective has been exploring improvised juggling in public spaces in the form of free improvisations called “One Shot” or with more constructed formats such as “Monument ” (2017), a four-day piece on the scale of a neighborhood, and Périple2021 (2021), a relay peformance over 6 months throughout France. This rich experience of protocol leads him to a juggling language where improvisation gives the body a space of existence and freedom that forges his identity as a juggler.

In 2020, Thomas Dequidt received the SACD prize for Author-Juggler of the Year for his career and to encourage him in his future projects.
