Restitution of the masterclass directed by Guillaume Martinet and Margot Seigneurie with the students of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (workshop of Emmanuelle Huynh and Julien Prévieux) and the apprentices of the Académie Fratellini.
Exhibition and performances
Taiji is not only a language created to translate the location of the body’s limbs and movement but also a tool for memorization, transmission and creation.
A dedicated typography allows to keep the traces of the body movements and the juggled objects on paper.
With Taiji phonetics one can name and pronounce all conceivable typographic figures.
In this developing project, the participants, under the direction of Guillaume and Margot, will create and present transcriptions, calligraphic works and performances in public.
A moment of sharing sensibilities, between intimacy and pragmatism.
Cie Defracto
Company founded in 2008 by Laure Caillat, Guillaume Martinet, Minh Tam Kaplan and David Maillard, Defracto works to create body language and juggling. Each project is a collaboration, all actors are co-actors and participate in the design of the project. The collegial dimension of musical, scenographic and juggling writing is a constant. Based in Ile-de-France, the company creates abstract and absurd pieces, all based on experimental and playful juggling, composed with minimalist and custom-made sound and light.
