Between intimate and spectacular

This is the story of a juggler and a musician in their living room. Dimmed lights, welcoming carpet… it’s hard to imagine that we’re about to attend a real juggling concert, an apartment concert where rhythm is king, from the gesture to the accessory, via the instrument! Between Pierre, the drummer, and Julien who dances with the objects, the understanding is perfect, the listening is palpable, the whispering underlying.

The dialogue that is born does not need words to emerge; it relies on the musicality of each other.

Collective Petit Travers

The Collectif Petit Travers was founded in 2004. Since 2011, the artistic directions have been driven jointly by Nicolas Mathis and Julien Clément. The activity of the company is mainly centered on the production and distribution of large format juggling pieces and educational transmission.

In eighteen years, a repertory of eight plays, an amateur creation and four small forms were born, totaling more than 1000 performances throughout the world (England, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Cambodia, Laos, China, Argentina, Chile, Israel, Turkey…). Strong encounters with great names in Dance (Pina Bausch, Maguy Marin, Joseph Nadj), Circus (Jérôme Thomas) and Music (Sébastien Daucé, Pierre Jodlowski, Ensemble TaCTuS) took place along the way. Some of them have become collaborations, thus concretizing the dynamic of openness which since the beginning feeds this writing of juggling from the inside.
