OMÂ or the privileges of the potato is a circus and chattering solo. It’s a self-fictional encounter between a German grandmother and an Iranian grandmother. It’s a chance for their little girl to explore the randomness of her origins and the privileges that come with them. Seeking to unmask the absurdity of boxes and clichés, she juggles, contorts and intertwines herself in her questioning, which she shares with honesty and self-mockery.

The bolbol company was founded in 2020 by Roxana Küwen Arsalan. Bolbol means nightingale in Persian, but it’s also a common expression for a talkative person. This double meaning reflects the company’s artistic universe, which is as poetic as the nightingale’s song, but also as committed to the spoken word.
