Juggling is their outlet, an expression, a connection to what makes them exist and vibrate. To feel alive and connected against all odds.
Juggling has a history, an emotion, a journey, a sensation, linked to their complicity, their constantly evolving relationship. They search, they explore, they advance in this journey where bodies speak and respond to each other. Choreographed and in play, dreamlike, explosive and repeated, the movement carries them and engages them physically until their bodies are exhausted… to return to the essential, to almost nothing.
Beyond bodily expression, it’s a human relationship carried and influenced by the other that’s played out in space.
Compagnie Les Invendus
Les Invendus are Nicolas Paumier and Guillaume Cachera.
We met as teenagers and have never really been apart since. Our friendship was enriched by numerous trips abroad, where we shared and developed our common passion: juggling. To this dynamic relationship was added the desire to perfect and deepen our artistic knowledge, both technical and theoretical, through professional training. These experiences now feed our work and our desire to express ourselves.
After mounting a few projects together, we officially created our company in 2016. We are developing a common technical language that we have named “Mouvement Jonglé”. It’s based on the relationship between the body and juggling, and juggling and the body. Whether choreographed or in the form of a game, our juggling is physically engaged with our bodies in motion. Contact dance, African dance, contemporary dance and capoeira are all dances that nourish us and in which we incorporate juggling. We search, we explore, we move forward, together. Working as a duo is a matter of course for us, and enriches our research.
After several creative periods, with the invaluable help of outside eyes such as Maxime Sales (Compagnie Happyface), Guillaume Martinet (Compagnie Defracto) and Johan Swartvagher (Collectif Protocole), we completed our first project Accroche-toi si tu peux in January 2018. We’re off on the roads of France, Europe and the World. We’re sharing our show with ever-growing audiences, under big tops, at Street Arts festivals, at Scènes conventionnées… The feedback we get is so positive, there’s really something that connects with audiences!
We’ve chosen to work with the Nantes-based production company PlusPlusProd, and more particularly with Denis Poulin, who, in addition to distribution, will be able to advise us and guide us in our choices.
