Combining the two disciplines of acrobatics and juggling, El Dorado aims to create a choreographic technique based on the juggling of bodies. The intention is to develop a language on the edge of circus and dance, breaking away from traditional juggling objects and using the performers’ own bodies as a means of expression. Through a physical dialogue between manipulators, this new creation seeks to-rice and manipulated-eto construct a space for reflection on the body as an object.
Cie NDE – Nicanor de Elia
Created and supported by Nicanor de Elia, Cie NDE was born in Brussels in 2015. The company’s research focuses on expressing the body through object manipulation, contemporary dance, visual arts and video. These diverse influences are in constant dialogue, and edges are blurred so that circus, dance and the visual arts can coexist. Cie NDE is currently producing three shows: COPYLEFT, a danced juggling show for the public space (2019), JUVENTUD, a juggling Manifesto, for the concert hall (2021) and EL DORADO, a creation scheduled for January 2025.
