“What if, instead of clubs, we used our arms as juggling objects?”
“Can we juggle without objects?”
In El Dorado there are no clubs, just arms, fists, heads and legs. We
juggle with our bodies, and our bodies juggle with us. We find ourselves in a minimalist
hybrid feast where circus and dance codes intermingle. Choreographic writing is born from
juggling, bodily expression is acrobatic and the dramaturgy is a journey from the body as object
to the body as subject. El Dorado is a circus and dance show, a golden physical quest to make
ONE with the world and others.

Cie NDE – Nicanor de Elia

Created and carried by juggler, dancer, choreographer, teacher and director Nicanor de Elia, Cie NDE was born in 2015 in Brussels. Now based in Toulouse, in the Occitanie region of France, the company’s research focuses on the expression of the body through contemporary circus and, more specifically, object manipulation, contemporary
dance, visual arts and video. These diverse influences are in constant dialogue, blurring the boundaries between circus, dance and the visual arts.
Cie NDE’s creations are supported by the DGCA, the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the DRAC Occitanie, the Région Occitanie, the Ville de Toulouse, the Département de la Haute Garonne, the FONDOC and the SPEDIDAM.
