A choreography for various polystyrene forms and a human
MATERIA explores the possibilities of a material, polystyrene, to the point that it becomes alive and the protagonist of events on stage. The role of the performer shifts to that of facilitator, and attention is constantly negotiated between the object, the manipulator, and the manipulation. Within a defined structure, objects are free to play and take initiatives. The piece does not try to force a narrative but rather to let the audience organize its own imagination from the images presented on stage.
Andrea Salustri
Andrea Salustri comes from Rome, where he learned juggling, fire manipulation, and worked as a street performer. He graduated with honors in philosophy from La Sapienza University in Rome, and then decided to move to Berlin to train in contemporary dance. He first attended the intensive dance program of the Tanzfabrik Berlin, and then obtained a degree in dance and choreography at the HZT University in Berlin. Andrea is an award-winning artist for circusnext 2018-2019.
